Our privacy policy
Version v2 · Last updated: 15 October 2026
01Summary
Here is the short version. The full policy follows, and the two say the same thing.
- Who we are. Your Living Message is run by Joshua Michael Gold trading as Your Living Message, a sole trader based in Sydney, NSW.
- What we collect. Your email address, anything you choose to write in the “moment” box, a record of your consent, and technical data about your visit.
- Why. To run our early-access list, to send you the emails you agreed to, to understand what people want from the service, and to measure our ads.
- Who we share with. Our database host, our email tool, and our advertising and analytics providers. Some of them are overseas. We never sell your information.
- Your choices. You can unsubscribe from any email. You can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you, and we will.
If anything here is unclear, email hello@yourlivingmessage.com and we will explain it in plain words.

02Who we are
Your Living Message is operated by Joshua Michael Gold trading as Your Living Message, a sole trader based in Sydney, NSW (ABN 53 871 706 349).
You can contact us at hello@yourlivingmessage.com. Email is the best way to reach us about anything in this policy.
Small businesses may be exempt from parts of the Privacy Act, but we choose to follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
03What we collect
- Your email address.
- The optional “moment” text, if you choose to write something in that box.
- A consent record: the time you signed up, which page you signed up on, the version of the wording you agreed to, and that you ticked the box. We only store a sign-up when the box is ticked.
- Technical data, through the three measurement tools in section 7. Cloudflare Web Analytics uses no cookies and tells us which pages were viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what browser and device type was used. The Meta Pixel and Google Analytics both set cookies, and neither one loads unless you click Accept on the banner described in section 7. If they do load, they tell Meta and Google that a page was viewed, and tell Meta that a sign-up happened. Any tool that loads receives your IP address and browser information, because any request to a website does. If you reach us by clicking one of our ads, Meta can connect that visit to the ad you clicked.
- Your survey answers, if we send you a survey and you answer it. We have not sent any yet.
We do not currently track whether you open our emails or click links in them. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
04How we collect it
- From you, through our sign-up form and through surveys we send you.
- Automatically, through the tracking tools listed in section 7.
- From Meta and Google, as aggregated reports about how our ad campaigns performed.
05Why we use it
- To run the early-access list.
- To send you the emails you agreed to receive.
- To analyse sign-ups, moments and survey answers, so we understand what people want and can improve our product and our marketing messages.
- To measure and improve our ads.
- To keep things secure.
06Email
- We only email you if you ticked the box on the sign-up form.
- Every email identifies us and has an unsubscribe link.
- We act on unsubscribes within 5 working days.
07Advertising, analytics and cookies
We use exactly three measurement tools, and only on our landing pages. Here they are by name.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies. It runs automatically for every visitor. It tells us which pages were viewed, the rough location of the visit, and the browser and device type.
- Meta Pixel. It sets cookies. It only runs if you click Accept on the banner shown on our landing pages — nothing from Meta loads before that. It sends Meta two things only: that a page was viewed, and that a sign-up was completed. The sign-up event carries no details at all — no email address, no moment text, nothing you typed.
- Google Analytics (GA4). It sets cookies. It only runs if you click Accept on the same banner — nothing from Google loads before that. It tells us which pages were viewed and how people moved through the site.
Everyone sees the same banner, everywhere in the world, and nothing is pre-ticked. If you click Decline, nothing from Meta or Google loads at all. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of either landing page.
If you click Accept, both Meta and Google receive your IP address and browser information, because any request to a website does. Google Analytics does not retain your full IP address — this is Google’s standard behaviour for GA4, not a setting we turn on or off.
What we do not share. We never send your email address, your moment text, or any other form content to Meta, to Google, or to any other advertising or analytics provider, in any form — including scrambled or hashed forms.
What we do not use yet. We are not using the Meta Conversions API or enhanced conversions. We will update this policy before adding either.
How to opt out
- On this site: click Decline on the banner, or use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of either landing page to change a choice you made earlier.
- Meta: change your ad preferences in your Meta account settings.
- Google: change your ad settings in your Google account, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Your browser: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a tracker-blocking extension. Parts of the site may work less well if you do.
08Custom audiences
We do not upload your email address to Meta, Google or any other advertising platform, in any form, including hashed lists. If we ever want to, for example so that people already on our list stop seeing our ads, we will update this policy and ask for your permission first.
09Who we share with
- Supabase — database hosting, Sydney.
- AWeber — email, United States.
- Meta — advertising and measurement.
- Google — the fonts used to display this site, website analytics if you accept it, and aggregated reports if we run Google ads.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and analytics.
- AI tools — used to help us summarise responses, with names and contact details removed. These providers are in the United States.
- Professional advisers, such as an accountant or a lawyer, where they need it to advise us.
- Where we are required to by law.
We do not sell or rent your information.
10Sending information overseas
Some providers store or access information in the United States and other countries where they operate, including Ireland for Meta. We use providers with contractual data-protection commitments.
11The “moment” box and other people
On one of our pages we ask what moment you would record a message for. We ask because your answer tells us what to build first, and in what order. It is optional, and leaving it empty changes nothing about your sign-up.
Please keep it general. Avoid full names, health details, or anything private about other people. A relationship and an occasion — “my daughter’s wedding” — is all we need.
We never share this text with advertising platforms. If you would like it removed, email us and we will delete it.
12How long we keep it
- If you unsubscribe: we keep only your email address and the date you unsubscribed, so that we never email you again. We delete the rest within 30 days.
- Early-access list data: deleted 24 months after your last interaction with us, or earlier if you ask us.
- Moment text: deleted or made anonymous within 90 days of when you submit it.
13Security
These are the measures in place today.
- Connections to this site use HTTPS.
- The sign-up form can add new entries to our database, but it cannot read or change existing ones.
- Sign-up data is stored in an encrypted database in Sydney. Our email tool, AWeber, also holds your email address, in the United States.
- Access is restricted to the operator.
If we add further measures, we will say so here.
14If something goes wrong
If there is a data breach and it is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). This is consistent with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
15Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time.
Email hello@yourlivingmessage.com. We reply within 30 days, and there is no charge.
16AI and automated decisions
We don’t use automated decision-making to make decisions about you. We may use AI tools to help us summarise what people write in the moment box and in surveys. We remove names and contact details first. Meta and Google use automated systems to deliver and improve ads.
17What we don’t collect yet
We are not yet collecting voice recordings, and we are not building voice or message features from your content. Before we do either, we will publish an updated privacy policy and ask for your specific consent.
18Age
Your Living Message is for adults aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect children’s information. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
19Visitors outside Australia
This site is aimed at people in Australia, and our ads are targeted to Australia. We do not block visitors from anywhere else, and the site is reachable worldwide.
Everyone who visits this site, from anywhere in the world, sees the same consent choice described in section 7. Nothing is different by location.
20Complaints
Please email hello@yourlivingmessage.com first. We respond within 30 days.
If we don’t resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992.
21Changes
This is version v2 of this policy. Last updated: 15 October 2026.
If we make a material change, we will tell the people on our early-access list by email.
